Pursue Industrial Supplies, IT Curriculum Corrected
Bandung - very fast moving IT industry. Campus as a provider of human resources (HR) to fill industry needs keteteran. Pursuing the needs of industry, the Association of Informatics and Computer College (Aptikom) also improve the IT curriculum.
Aptikom Chairman, Professor Dr. Richardus Eko Indrajit on the sidelines of the National Congress Aptikom at Hotel Horison Bandung, said the current curriculum is not yet able to answer the needs of a very fast growing industry. Therefore it tries to offset the rate of growth of the IT industry by renewing the existing curriculum.
"We try to answer those needs. Munas this is one way for us," he said.
Added by him, are now 10 percent of total IT curriculum has been able to adopt the needs of the industrial world. Currently there are around 150 IT graduates each year. Although much larger quantities with other countries, but the quality still can not compete.
"Of the approximately 144 credits that there we could meet 10 percent. Although the Director General of Higher Education has given us freedom for up to 30 percent, but we take the first 10 percent. Gradually lah," he explained.
Figures 10 percent intended by Eko here is to diperkenankannya students to add any other skills outside the campus. For example by taking specific field of certification.
"Now that certification could be incorporated into the curriculum. It at least could answer the needs of industry," he said.
